Difference between 2002 and 2003 Dutch Star?

I am in the market for a 2002 or 2003 Dutch Star 3800 series with the Spartan chassis. The specifications for these years are very close. Does anyone know what was added or changed in the 2003 Dutch Star models?

Just wanted to say, Hi, can't really comment on your question. But when I was looking at my current 99 there was a 00, right beside it and about the only thing that struck me right off was the entry door width, 00 floor plan was a no-go with the DW so we got the 99.
JMHO. If you could get an 02 & 03 of the same floor plan side by side , it would probably take a while to pick out any differences. Shopping used, DW , OK'ing floor plan is #1, condition and service records 2 & 3.

Welcome to the forum & irv2.
I would say not much difference, lets take a look.
2002 DSDP------2003 DSDP------2002 Owners Guide-----2003 Owners Guide
One change I see is the Spartan Mountain Master chassis on 03 doesn't mention in on 02.
Owners guides about the same for you difference in mileage, condition of coach maintenance, tire wear.
I'd lean to the 03 because of MM chassis most have been a upgrade year.
I'll leave that up to DP owners to give info.
Good luck one thing in common its a Newmar.

We have a 2002 DSDP 40 foot BUT none of the 2002 had Triple slides. That started in 2003. Go figure, Spartan chassis real nice coach but suspect it was real late in the model year, that being said if you like it and it does what you want the year is not a big deal to me.

Better recheck your info!
We have a 2002 4090, it DOES have three slides: kitchen, living room and bedroom. And, yes, we supposedly got the last 2002 Spartan MM chassis Newmar had in stock when we ordered it on April 15, 2002, delivered June 26, 2002.

The only brochure I have see only shows a 4095 with the bedroom and living room slide no Kitchen slide. No 4090 in the 2002 brochure I have. Interesting and I stand corrected and will change my info. How do you know if you have the MM chassis?

The 4090 was a late year add'n I guess as the brochure we have doesn't show it either. Even then we had them remove one wall, two pocket doors and substitute a vanity from another model. The same floorplan then appeared in a later year so I guess Newmar like the looks of it.
The build sheet shows MM and Spartan confirmed it when they replaced the 12,000# front axle with a 14,600# one in 2004.

We have a 2002 4090 with LR, Kit, and BR slides, on a Freightliner chassis. Placarded out of Freightliner November, 2001; out of Newmar on Jan 14, 2002.
