Difference between Essex and LA

A friend was asking about about my new to me 2019 LA and mentioned that his BIL had a 2018 Essex.

Got me thinking. They are on the same K3 chassis, both are loaded. What are the fundamental differences between the Essex and London Aire.

It doesn't really matter. I'm just curious.

We have owned 2 LA and one Essex and Yes they are very similar. The Essex has many small items that are the next level but there new price is about 100K and you would expect that difference. Both are outstanding coaches from a great builder, Newmar. Our current coach is a 18 LA with the Spartan K-3 chassis and the X-15 605 and there is not anything better at that price point. It would be suggested if not buying new then the Spartan chassis would be a most.

There are a few main differences, mainly the interior and exterior styling and the Essex has many upgraded appliances/electronics and comes all-electric as standard. A few smaller things are extra LED lighting in places, full tile shower, grey tank rinse, etc.

Frankly, you could outfit a Mountain Aire or LA with many of the same things the Essex comes with standard if you preferred one styling over another, but you'd also be adding quite a bit of extra cost with options and specials.

The Mountain Aire does have the Spartan K-3 chassis but has the X-12 with 500HP and 1650 torque. LA first coach in Newmar lineup with X-15.
