Dinette choices?

My wife and I have pretty much decided on ordering a MADP when she retires later this year. She retires in June and we plan to order after that. While searching we've seen a few different table options for dinette, although the euro booths are clean and sleek looking we feel we'd prefer the table and chairs. We are leaning towards the buffet dinette with computer station, but while in Palm Springs we saw a DSDP with the free standing table. Looking for any Pro/cons from those that have the buffet dinette and those with the free standing table. Thanks in advance, Brad

We love the freestanding table and chairs. Always nice when extra company comes over. We have had up to 11 people in our MH for a movie night, and our TV is behind the passenger seat in the entertainment consol. Just move the table where you want it, and enjoy!! With the table out of the way, there's room to dance Can't do that with a dinette.

In both our DSDP's we ordered them with the attached table and credenza with free standing chairs. In fact that's what the Magna has also.

Thank you, when we saw it we thought it could bbe a game changer for us. My biggest question or concern is how well it stows for travel along with any vibrations or noise going down the road. Thanks again

We have the freestanding table (actually it is attached to the wall), and it gives a lot of room if you are having guests for dinner. When not used for dining it doubles as a work space for our laptop.

Our table clamps down to the floor, the chairs sit next to the table, held in place by a strap that holds them close to the table. Side leafs fold down, so makes more room when slides are in.

We had the buffet/table/free-standing chairs and we absolutely loved it. As stated, the chairs can be moved anywhere for extra seating. The table/chairs make a comfortable eating area for 'any size RVer'. The buffet/desk was great. We used a full-size monitor (necessary for our photography editing) and held it down with 'earthquake straps' so it never moved while traveling. One drawer held the keyboard/mouse. Beneath it was a pull-out tray for the printer. On the other side of the table were two drawers and a file drawer.

We had a booth in another RV and it was extremely uncomfortable seating.

X2 on buffet/desk/free standing table & chairs. Booth dining arrangement was a deal breaker during our search for a new to us coach.
Buffet can provide extra valuable surface area when entertaining. The desk is great for those "office functions" like paying the bills or planning a trip, etc.
It's an efficient use of space IMHO.
What works best for you could be different.
Best of luck with all of you choices

Cheers

Our coach has the freestanding table that actually attaches to the wall with a couple of clips. Easy to move. It has one leaf, and I plan on making a second leaf as the table opens up enough to allow for it. Last year we had a family campout and we all ate in our coach. I took the table and moved it to the center of the coach and turned it lengthwise. I think we got 6 people seated around it that way. Very versatile. The two folding chairs are stored in the bedroom closets. Wish they would go under the bed, but with the slide mechanism, there isn't enough room. We would not even consider a coach with a booth.

In my opinion, booths take away a lot of options with the space they occupy. I personaly don't like booths, but even if I did, I think I would go with my current setup of a moveable table (w/ one leaf) and a desk unit along the side wall. When we bought used there was only the table and 4 side chairs, but I needed a work space and file and storage space so I had Focal Wood Products make the same desk as has been put in Newmars as an option for years and install it. It adds a tremendous amount of utility to that space! and it looks great - thanks Carlyle.

One thing I find curious is that when looking at older higher end coaches like Foretravel and Country Coach most are equipped with booths. Not sure why. Even today, new Newells appear to be equipped that way. Maybe the owners have other people doing their paperwork for them.

We have a table attached to the wall. When it's pulled out you can seat 5 fairly comfortably. We are now traveling just the two of us, but with grandkids on the way, our next coach will probably have a booth for extra sleep space!

We got the option

Combination Desk/Dinette with Roll Away Table (Two Fixed/Two Folding)*

and love it. Gives us extra room when 'rolled' away, and long table (4 chairs) when you need it. Fantastic option.

We have a 2015 DSDP with the freestanding chairs, freestanding table with one center leaf and dinette with computer station.
We love it.
Tremendous flexibility.
Plenty of room for 4 adults for dinner with two matching folding that are chairs stored under the bed.
File cabinet and 2 drawers on one side, slide out keyboard station and printer storage on left.
Works perfect for us!!!
Traveling down the road with this setup is a breeze.
Take leaf out and 1/2 of the table slides into dinette.
Stop for lunch and there's plenty of room for the two of us to eat on the rest of table with all slides closed
