DirecTV receivers how many?

Not to beat this topic, we will be ordering directv receiver for our DS. We're told to get 1 for BR and 1 for LR. Now, I understand you need both if your watching different channels, but if your not, why do you need the BR receiver?

Are you able to get the directv pic on the BR TV without an extra receiver?

We did not order the HDMI to be routed to the BR on our build as it been said Newmar uses cheaper cable and you lose single strength.

Thx for your info

Depends on how the rig is wired.
Our '02 DSDP needed two receivers for the two TV's. The present rig also requires two receivers for the three TV's. Front overhead and salon TV run off the same TV receiver. The Magna uses RCA cables for all the TV receivers so no HDMI in it.

Get an HR-44 or HR-54 receiver, a C-41 video bridge and an wireless mini genie, and you will be set to go.

If your DS is like our MA, you'll need a bedroom receiver to get DirectV in the bedroom. It is separate from the LR system....i.e. 2 separate systems.

2 coax lines from the dish, one for LR and one for BR....no way to crossover the bedroom tv to the LR system or vice versa.

If you have HDTV you should get the DirecTV Genie system. See PJStough above (Post #3). Since the Mini Genie is wireless you don't need any cables back to the bedroom. Same for basement TV if you have one.

We bought ours from the dealers inventory, I had them replace the in motion dome with the Travler, we choose the DISH instead of Direct TV. I have two receivers a "Wally" for the BR, and a 211 for the LR, that I think we are going to upgrade to the Hopper. By using this type of setup you can watch different channels on two different TV's at the same time.

Newmar does not wire the bedroom tv to the front satellite receiver. The easiest way to watch satellite tv there is by adding a second receiver or a client (if you have DTV Genie. There is a coax connection from the sat dish in the bedroom, so you can use a wired client. If you don't want a second receiver, you might be able to add a wireless HDMI link (sender in the front cabinet attached to the HDMI splitter, receiver in the bedroom).

With DirecTV's Genie system and use of the wireless mini Genie you can watch different channels on the main receiver and the mini Genie at the same time. I think you can run 3 to 5 mini Genies at the same time. You can also watch any recorded programs that are on the main receiver on the remote wireless Genies.

Wireless HDMI

We have used a set of wireless HDMI units (transmitter in front and receiver in bedroom) for more than a year without problems. Sometimes the units get out of synch and have to be rebooted but it's a simple process of unplug/replug. You cannot watch different channels in the front and back but you can control the channel selection from either location. We purchased them at Best Buy for about $150.

I have similar setup, but with transmitter and dish receiver in bedroom and wireless receiver in front. Works great!

Not sure how all other coaches our, but on our CS3953 ordered with Winegard Traveler Directv antenna, we have a Genie Gen2 receiver (HR44-500) as the main and a Genie Mini (C41-500) for the bedroom. Not sure what all the other stuff people mention is used for. I called Winegard and told them I had a Newmar CS with their antenna and they sent me these receivers, they work beautifully.
