Dirt Devil central vac not sucking well anymore

It's a model "500cv", apparently. I've checked the bag. The motor spins up, but there's no suction at the infinite dustpan entryway when flipping the switch.

What am I missing? Am I going to have to snake the thing to find a clog?

That's where I would start. Or I would take apart the connections that you can access. There are prolly lots of twists and turns down below and in between the dustpan and the bag where "stuff" can get stuck. You may even find that one of those connections has come apart. \ken

Sorry to hear about your Dirt Devil problem. Would it be a result of the coach being a Death Star?

Check out this trouble section and see if it helps resolve your problem.
Make sure the filter support and bag are installed correctly and check for the proper bag if they have been changed.

Just changed the bag on mine and DW said it didn't have any suction. The cover by filter was not on properly.

Turns out the flex PVC that runs from the coach down to the vacuum is just friction-fit. When we remove it, the vacuum runs at full suction. So, now we know there is something up in the flex PVC clogging things. I don't have the right tools to get far enough into it yet, so a working vacuum will have to wait.
