Disconnecting house batteries.

My 05 Essex is stored for about four months in the summer. I've been running the genset every other day to keep the house batteries charged. Even though I am not running anything and the salesmen's switch is turned off, I still get some draw. I'd like to disconnect the house batteries so I don't have to run the genset at all. Is there a right and wrong way to do this?? I've got four AGM house batteries with a 3100 watt Magnum inverter.

Remove the inverter fuse and then remove the negetive cables.

If you have 120 V power available, why don't you buy a 12V trickle charger & leave it hooked up to the house batteries?

When my coach is in storage for the winter, I have to disconnect house battery cables. I remove the inverter positive cable and then the house positive cable. Naturally, this happens after I turn off the inside power switch. I use the chassis disconnect switch by the engine to disconnect the chassis batteries.

I run the generator 2 hours once a month, which is cummins current recommendation.

In the summer, I use an upgraded solar panel to charge all batteries. I added a 100w flex panel and a cheap 10amp solar controller. I added extra wires that connect the chassis batteries to the house batteries. It's crude, but works.

Agree - with Magnum important to disconnect inverter Pos first and reconnect last. The fuse us a convenient way to do that. I like to lay a mat over the batty bank when working in the area to prevent any ooops.
