Discount off MSRP for Dutch Star

To anyone who has purchased a new Newmar (specifically, a Dutch Star), what discount off MSRP did you get? And if you would be so kind as to include the year, that would help, since I'm guessing there was a COVID factor! I know no two deals are the same, but I'm just trying to get a ballpark idea. Thanks so much.

the back orders are gone just like the 3% loans, I'm going to guess it is a buyers market and in the next 6-12mo we very well might see a new round of manufactures going out of business, I think they will deal... JMHO

Thank you, but do you have specific numbers? Everything you mentioned is true, but I'm trying to quantify what a ballpark discount should be.

I agree, the balloon is starting to deflate. The big problem I see now for manufactures is that production costs are still sky high and demand is plummeting. I follow the inventory at some of the large dealers in the nation, and it looks like most 2023 units (Newmars) are not pre sold any longer like the last couple of years and there are still plenty of 22's available. That being said, 20, 21 and part of 22 were insane.

I believe all the ‘22 models have been sold, I also think Newmar does not allow publishing sales prices for current year models. So the only way to get your answer is from someone who has recently purchased a ‘23 model. I do think they will deal some but since it’s early in the ‘23 season I don’t think they will discount heavy.

I have heard of 15-25% off in the Covid era. Pre Covid, I was hearing 30-35% and this is where I would be expecting currently if I was shopping. Who knows, there could maybe even be some factory incentives down the road if things really stall out and vehicle flooring costs become an issue.

Pre-Covid I got 27.5% off on my 2020. I locked in the price just before the Covid hit the fan in February or March of that year and that discount was the best available at the time. I was reading 30% to 35% off but there was no way that was going to happen; I got price quotes from all the good discount dealers I’d researched on this forum and a few said they’d be at break even at 28% and would lose money over that. They did state deeper discounts were a thing prior to 2020 but that ship had sailed long ago. With the ongoing supply chain issues, increased manufacturing costs and pressure on margins I’d be shocked if you can get more than 25%-27% in today’s market.

the amount of discount varies by model, specials, year & options one gets. On my 2005 MADP I got 34.7% off MSRP. On my 2014 MADP I only got 32.8% off MSRP- with $62,800 in options & specials.

I would bet that by Q2 2023 they will dealing down in that area of discounts again.

Happy Trails

Just contact the NIRVC nearest you, get a price. Then start shopping. I think you’ll find yourself back at NIRVC.
