Dishwasher soap, powder or tablets what are you using

Our 2019 Ventana is equipped with a dishwasher, we finally got to try it out and it works great with the supplied sample tablet (kinda) the tablet broke on installation.

The manual recommends Powder.

Hence the question.

What are you using?

We just use Cascade powder. Doesn't take much. The dishwasher is an option we would not have ordered, but once we started using it I wouldn't be without one. I think it uses less water than washing in the sink for a whole days dishes.

We use Finish Powerball Quantum tablets. Wedge the tablet between the racking as shown in the owners manual or use the tablet tray if your cutlery basket came with one.
Check the Fisher & Paykel owners manual for unsuitable detergents. It specifically says that Liquid detergents are not suitable and may damage your dishwasher and lead to a service call that is not covered under warranty.

Interesting - ours has served us well for 16 years with one repair - had nothing to do with soap - F and P's are a great product.

Thanks for the tip, will likely switch out to powder if that's what they say.

Thank you all for your input on this subject.

Never owned a drawer dishwasher before so your experience is appreciated.

With your input I have decided on the Finish Powerball Quantum tablets.

Ted.

We use the pods, I believe it's either Finish or Cascade. On the back side of the front door, in upper left corner as you look down, is a little open block. I just set the soap pod in/on that block. Ours dissolve and cleans very well.

One thing we do.....once the dishes are dry and have been removed, we leave the door ajar until a driving day, when it needs to be closed. This prevents any mold or mildew issues.

We use pods. If you open the dispenser, you will notice two small prongs. Push the pod down on the prongs, close dispenser. Dishes come out clean. We use the “fast” setting. Done in 30 minutes. Uses less water too.
