Dishwasher Ventana

Ordered a new ventana trying to get a dishwasher added to it as it doesnt come as an option but have seen other people get it in there order, my delivary date is early June. Im not sure if im getting the run around from my dealer but dealer is telling me it will add weeks to the delivary and alot of money because they have to send it to engineering I did get over 30% off of MSRP so not much meat on the bone for the dealer. Im just trying to see if im getting the run around or the truth thanjs guys.

It's not an option on the build sheet...but as you have stated, people did get them on their Ventanas. It's a Special. To add a special...yes, the dealer must pass the request to their designated sales rep at Newmar...who in turn relays it to Engineering. The Engineer either approves it, or not. Back to the sales rep., who passes along the cost to your dealer...then onto you. The problem that your likely facing is your "build" specs have probably been finalized...they've arranged the components...and I'm guessing they are probably assembling the coach within a week or two. So, as your salesman pointed out...they'll probably have to set back your build date and delivery date accordingly. It certainly would be a better opportunity now than later if it's something you cannot live without. They'll likely add to your specification removal of drawers, an added circuit, and additional plumbing. Mr. Engineer is very particular about these details...they don't "wing it". After market add-on would be very expensive due to the modifications necessary to retrofit your existing build. Sadly, you'll probably have to decide if the added delay is worth it all in the end.

I had a devil of a time getting a non-inverter powered outlet added to my coach. The engineering approval was a hassle. Luckily, we were touring the factory when our coach was being wired. The electrician tracked me down and asked if this was my coach...and what was I using the circuit for. It was refreshing to get an opportunity to speak directly to the guy that pulls the wires. Long story short...it turned out exactly as I was trying to explain to the Engineer...thru my salesman, thru his sales rep at Newmar,,, etc...

I realize the system is not perfect...but having said that - I know of no other company that entertains as many special request from Customers as does Newmar. We just have to play by their rules.

Keep on pushing the dealer. Newmar will do the specials. It may help to contact your Newmar rep yourself, back when I bought my coach it was Dave Garl (BTW my salesman gladly gave me his name and number), don't know if he'd be the person to talk to nowadays. When my coach was built, I had a list of three specials, one of which was installing a dishwasher that I had picked out (not a drawer type, it required enlarging an opening that used to be a cabinet door). Newmar agreed to do two of them but not install the dishwasher. I ended up installing it myself. Nowadays they seem to be much more willing to do the one-off specials, or course for more money.

Michelle Howard at Newmar is also someone that people have had good luck talking to. You should be able to reach either one by calling Newmar at (574) 773-7791 and asking for them.

As Charlie mentioned, they have a process, but if your build date is very close you may get better response by talking to Newmar directly.

If you can't get it installed at during the build you can always get it installed after the fact, the drawer type dishwasher typically replace one or both drawers below the cooktop. Obviously not the preferred way but it's a possibility.
