Does the tag axle lift on DS 40'
Does the tag axle lift, either automatically or manually, on the 40' Dutch Stars when slow turning or backing up? If manually is there a switch on the dash? If this does not happen, will there be any significant wear on the tag tires compared to the rear drive tires due to side scrubbing requiring earlier replacement? Or is this option only on the longer higher end coaches?

Yes, the tag will dump or lift. On my Ventana, it dumps. There is a switch to manually dump, but I leave it in auto.

The DSDP tag does not lift.
You can dump the air to remove the load to minimize tire scrubbing in atight turn.

On the 2016 DSDP's with the passive steering, do you think it will still do that?

Same for the 2015 Dutch Stars.

On my 2014 DS 4018 the tag will not lift off the ground but will dump 80% of it weight when auto is selected & transmission is in reverse or any time manual is selected and speed is below 15 mph is my understanding.

On a normal turn does this happen at a city intersection right or left turn, or only at a very very sharp turn as a U turn in a campground? Does this air dump happen immediately or do you need to wait a few seconds before completing the turn? Sorry for all the questions, I'm trying to get as familiar as possible for the walk through indoctranation in my new coach (I'm assuming it will be returned from the factory in the very near future as promised).

Your tag axle will lift automatically when you shift into reverse. Otherwise you have to manually lift it. Plus you can only do this at speeds below approx. 10mph.

It is dump only, no lift. However, it takes so much pressure off I can turn full lock on a gravel lot and the tag tires do not disturb the gravel.
The switch will have off, manual and automatic settings for dumping. It does take a second to achieve full dump.
The '16 with steerable tag will still have the dump for backing up. When in reverse the steering tag locks straight.

The following is from the FCCC Owners manual :
In the TAG DUMP mode, the axle air bags will deflate
when all of the following conditions are met. If
any of these conditions are not met, the tag-axle air
bags will fill:
• The tag-axle suspension dump switch is momentarily
pressed to toggle the tag-axle control
module into the dump mode.
• The vehicle speed is less than 8 mph (13 km/
h).
• The vehicle is in neutral or a forward gear.
If the vehicle exceeds a speed of 8 mph (13 km/h)
while the switch is in the TAG DUMP position, the
tag axle suspension dump switch control system will
override the TAG DUMP mode and the tag suspension
air bags will refill.
IMPORTANT: The tag-axle suspension dump
switch feature must be cycled on and off of the
TAG DUMP position if an override event occurs
while the switch is in the TAG DUMP position.
In the AUTO DUMP mode, the axle air bags will deflate
when all of the following conditions are met. If
any of these conditions are not met, the tag-axle air
bags will fill:
• The tag-axle suspension dump switch remains
in the AUTO DUMP mode (reverse maintained
position).
• The vehicle speed is less than 8 mph (13 km/
h).
• The vehicle is in reverse.
