Hi rickdw,
The awning is spring loaded to the open position. The motor is there to have a slow controlled opening and to roll the awning close while winding up the spring. When the awning stops short, do you hear any "clicking" from the motor. This would be the motor clutch slipping. Unless there is a mechanical bind or broken part there is nothing to stop the awning from completely closing. If you are in a safe place all I can suggest is to get on a ladder and determine why the motor will not completely close the awning.

Mine is doing the same thing. It's a Dometic. As the coach is new I will have a dealer look at it. But on my last MA the awning was doing the same and a tech adjusted the amp cutoff a bit higher so then the awing close all of the way.

Hi rickdw,
Not sure why post #3 was made. I know exactly what awning you are referring to. Is there something about my post that is confusing to you? The reason I asked about the clicking sound is that if there is the sound the motor clutch will need to be replaced. The clutch is a weak point in the design. Having more power needed to stop the awning will result in the clutch wearing out at a faster rate.

The only specific thing I can think of is that the arms that govern the track of the awning (they do not push the awning out or pull it in) are not adjusted correctly. Check this before applying more power to the awning stop point.

I got it adjusted. there are 2 allen scews on upper left side, you can get to them when awning is out. one controls stored position, other the extended position. turn bottom screw 1/4 turn - try then 1/8 turn try . perfect !!!!!
5 minute job once I figured out how it worked.

Thanks for input. Hope this will help others
