There is a known issue when leaving both sources plugged in(although this affects the new product, not sure how old your unit is)…apparently when the fridge is switching power sources on its own,the circuit boards are failing…the fix is installing a relay that does the switching rather than the fridge doing the switching….after having that done in Nappanee I am now able to leave both power sources plugged in without potentially frying the circuit board…. Without that being done I would just leave 12 volt plugged in….best Joe b

Interesting... Both Dometic and Newmar's response to the recall was to tell owners not to plug in both 120VAC & 12VDC at the same time and then a warning sticker that said similar that was then put into the bay by the outlets. Do you know if the techs back at Nappanee installed something akin to this? https://a.co/d/7ZGC4Pl

Wired into the 120VAC outlet and then used the Normal Open pins to switch the 12VDC plug on only if there was no 120VAC to activate low draw relay?

I'm starting to get the itch to go do another mod to the rig...

Thanks,
-Mark

Yes I believe the relay was something like that, also eliminated the super sensitive gfci in favor of a less sensitive gfi,of course that gfi is located in the half bath…..I am away from the coach, otherwise I’d post a picture of the new setup….happy travels Joe b
