Dometic Flush Panel
I have a 2020 Dutch Star with Dometic macerator toilet with the hand-wave flush panel. About 15 months into ownership the flush panel became problematic. I called Diane at Dometic, the Dometic toilet guru. I explained the problem and that I had switched flush panel position mid to back. She wanted me to remove the toilet and check the controller. I told her once again what I had done and that I felt it was a faulty flush panel and after additional logic she agreed it was probably the flush panel. I asked since the coach was fairly new if it were covered under warranty. The answer was no, there was a one year warranty, no exceptions, no company good will, just fork over $250+ for a new flush panel. New flush panel installed, worked correctly for about 5 months. Another call to Diane, went through the same explanation a few times with the same responses from my previous conversation with her. Asked about warranty or company good will. No, warranty on replacement parts is only 3 months (why do replacement parts have a different warranty than new parts? Are they inferior to new parts?), no exceptions, go spend another $250+. My opinion, Dometic is selling junk, does not stand behind their product, and Newmar should look elsewhere for a better product.
