Dometic Heat Pump to No Heat Pump

I have a Canyon Star with 1 Dometic Penguin II 15000 Heat Pump. Part Number on it is 651816cxx1c0.
I have another Dometic Penguin II 13500 Heat Pump that is bad Part Number is 651815cxx1co.
I don't really need 2 heat pumps since I have changed out my furnace to an all electric furnace. What I am trying to see if I can do is install a Dometic 15000 BTU with no heat Pump in the Bedroom where the bad unit is now.
From what I can tell I would need a 641816cxx1c0. I also have a 10 button Thermostat on the wall. Is this doable with that thermostat or is it not really? Thanks for any help

Watching with interest. I know when one of my HPs was replaced there are some dip switches on the roof unit that had to be set for the thermostat to recognize it as a HP and not just an AC. So logic would say your plan “should” work if the switches are all set properly. But, logic is not always logical... I was thinking about the opposite switch if/when my HPs fail again. Replace the failed HPs with just ACs since we have the propane furnace snd electric fireplace anyway. ACs look to be a good bit cheaper than the HPs too.

Reread your post . Looks like its not the opposite, but actually the same thing I was thinking about doing.

So, with the electric "whole RV" heater, you find you don't use the rooftop heat pumps anymore?

And you replaced the original propane heater?

How do you heat when driving? Just the dashboard heat? Or run the generator and run the electric furnace heat?

No we do not use the heat pumps anymore with the electric furnace now.
If we need heat while driving, then yes, we tun on the generator and then the furnace.

You are correct.
The 651816 is a 15,000 BTU AC and HP.
The 641816 is a 15,000 BTU AC only.
Both units come with a new 10-Button circuit board pre-intalled.

The current model you need is PN 641816HXX1C0-01
This is a 15,000 BTU AC Only unit with white cover and 10-Button Board preinstalled.

You will need to set the dip switches on the new AC and then complete a Reinitialization of the 10-Button thermostat after installation of the new AC.

A very simple installation.
