Dometic recall repair
Hello all I know this is an old thread however I have a question. I purchased my KSDP this summer and I believe the previous owner said the recall work had been done, however when putting in the serial number on the dometic website it indicates that the recall has yet to be accomplished. I have attached a picture showing what I believe to be a themistor to protect in case of excessive heat such as an uncontained fire, and the wiring schematic differs from the oned I have found on the internet. So I guess I would like opinions on whether or not the recall has been completed.
Thanks

It looks to be done for Dometic but you have a shield missing unless you removed it to show the cutoff devise.
The Norcolds would have been up higher on stack near the two black wires for the electric elements.

The Recall, if it's indicated for your unit, HAS NOT been satisified. See your dealer, they should be able to do it , takes about 30 minutes from arrival to departure.
One word of caution...
IN the photo there is a ribbed tube, black in color, with a plug in the lower end, it runs down from in back of stuff and is lying on the floor of the compatment under the gas line.
This tube should be extended out via one of the vent holes in the outer cover. It is a drip tube and you don't want water dripping on the electrical connections INSIDE the compartment or leaking back inside your RV
Partial source: Your owner's manual.
When I had my recall done I mentioned that the detail folks had not put it outside via a vent when the rig was new.. The service tech who did the recall said "I always put it out" first thing I checked when I got back to the rig, even before I unlocked the door to drive home.. .. Well let's say his actions did not match his words. I had to put it back out the vent hole.

Randy - With something as critical as the recall on your fridge, I sure wouldn't take the word of anyone on the forum as to whether it's been done or not.....there is no way for us to know. I would recommend you get to a dealer or authorized Dometic repair center if that is the brand you have, and assure the work has been or will be done.

This is the Newmar Dometic recall and yes your water drain tube is attached to drain outside vent area. You just have to make sure its not plugged with mud- dabbers, place some water in water tray in fridge and see if it drains.
My 98 KS had the Dometic recall as you have with the shield in place.
The recall states to be aware of any yellow substance or ammonia smell in fridge area as extra precaution as it would be for the Norcold also.
You would shut your fridge down.
