dometic refrigerator

I have a dometic, ndr 1062, that works fine on electric, but will not operate on gas, when unplug from shore power, it switches from electric to gas, and run for about 45 seconds and shuts off, restart and it does the same thing. shuts it's self off. can anyone give me a leg up on this problem. Called dometic s.c.a., and no help!! thanks

I would clean the burner tube and take air or a vacum and get any rust or dirt out, then check the the flame sensor they were bad to burn a hole in the end and shut it self down. Make sure the flame is a good blue about 1/2 inch high

if the flame sensor does not look burnt, take it out and clean with a very fine sandpaper, even if it does not look dirty.

Agree with all of it flame sensor is about all that can go wrong on that end, with the fact it's lighting and trying to relight shows it all good on the control board side.

dometic refrigerator

still having the same problem, after cleaning the flame sensor, will work for 45 seconds and then goes out, hear a click on the power module. can relight and after 45 seconds, out again. Have cleand the flue baffle with compressed air, and didn't find any rust.

Then I would change it out they do go bad not to often. I forgot which one it has some had a sensor tube and some had the ceramic one with the metal end bend like a L if it has any cracks in at all it will fail it lights the flame and also send signal back to the board that it's lit also..

Well, the 45 seconds really points towards the board not getting a signal from the flame sensor..

And, FWIW, I replaced mine in my stick-n-brick's furnance twice now in 6 years, so they do go bad..

you have no thermocouple. the flame sensor sets in the same place the thermocouple used to set. unlike the thermocouple the sensor does not work from the heat, but it completes the electrical circuit via the carbon molecules in the flame. { therefor flame sensor } at least that is the way it was explained to me. and after thinking about it and looking how it is wired I guess I believe it. at first it was hard to visulize the carbon molecules completing the circuit, but smarter men then me designed these things. I still think if you replace it that will fix your problem. good luck.
