Dometic toilet ball seal
Ok, I’m starting to feel like an idiot. I’m not a professional handy guy but i can follow directions or so i thought.
I’m trying to replace the ball seal. I’ve gotten the old one out with no issues. The new seal i can’t get seated. I’ve tried with the ball closed, with the ball open, with one hand, with two hands, with my eyes open…i cannot get it to seat. I’m feeling around for the lip and i can’t get a feel for it. I’ve watched the videos where they just pop in with ball closed. It ain’t happening for me - am i missing something??? It’s a 310…

I have never done it. But I would check that i bought the right seal for the model toilet? Also, did you by the OEM or aftermarket? .I have had issues many of times with aftermarket parts.
When my seal was leaking I watched a YouTube that said you need to apply silicone grease on the seal. Don't know if the grease is needed, because I cleaned it with a toilet brush and the leak stoped.

I bought aftermarket and i did use plumbers grease…the seal i bought matches what was in there but that’s not saying the one that’s in there is correct from the previous owner…it would just be odd i guess that they match

When I've done that task, I just followed instructions making sure all surface were clean. No problems getting it to seal. I always buy the OEM parts for it. Water finds the smallest of gaps.

Flips, is it a slow leak or fast? When I replaced ours in our previous DS, it had a slow leak, where the half quart of water would drain into the black tank after about an hour. This happened for a few days, before the gasket made good contact all the way around. If it is a fast leak, then consider figuring out the OEM part number, as mentioned by Old-Biscuit. Best of luck on a "poopy" job...

You guys are always right!!! I dropped a 50 spot on an OEM seal from local dealer (big trip on Friday so running out of time to order online) - came home, popped it right in and there's water in the bowl. Lesson learned - Some parts aren't worth trying to be cheap... THANKS!!
