Door Awning will Not Retract

The door awning is stuck on the out position in the nearly fully extended position.

When I press the "out" button the awning moves a couple of inches out, stops extending and the motor will continue to run until I stop pressing the button.

When I try to retract the awning, it will retract a couple of inches and the motor will stop even though I continue to press the button "in".

Any ideas or suggestions?

Some types can get stuck if theu are run too far out, use a broom stick to tyap the arms inward as someone retracts it. If that works adjust it to not extend quite as far.

Thanks. Didn't work. The arms are not straight out and are folded inward about 75 degrees. I'll look at it closer tomorrow morning. Maybe try a mobile tech. If no luck I'll remove and store it and deal with it when we get home in March. We leave this campground Friday.

I have the same problem. The motor runs but does not retract. I loosen the end cap and tried to adjust , when I put it back together, it came in. I tried it a second time, put out a couple of inches and again motor run but not awning. S o I manually finished rolling it in and zip tied it tell later. I not sure if a gear in bad or the stop switch which stops it automatically when coming in and going out is out of adjustment. When I had it repaired a couple of years ago that was the problem. Any ideas???

I got up early and retracted the awning manually. I did look for look for something obvious, but could see nothing. Every trip I take there are issues with the coach portion and-or chassis/drivetrain portion. This is the third event this trip and we've driven only 2300 miles. Next week we start back. Hopefully it will be an uneventful 2300 mile return.

Yep it’s l ways something. Hopefully they become less intrusive, but there will ways things to take care of when you get home. Part of the lifestyle.
