Door things

2010 Dutch Star 4 buttons on door what are they for? My amber light under step does not come on, I have seen it on but usually it does not come on just wondering if these have anything to do with it.

The step is operated by a magnetic switch. The buttons on the post operate the door locks and some lights on some coaches.

These contact points control the door lock and the door steps. Keep them clean.

Regarding the amber light under the coach.. This is part of the Electric Step assembly and is operated by the magnetic switch in the door jam. IF it is working it should come on any time the door (Both outer and inner doors) are open. and go out shortly after the door is closed.

Next to useless it is.. I went with a pair of LED accent lights hooked to that circuit. Nice and bright steps easily seen.

Have you checked the bulb? Sounds silly, but changing it out may get it to work. I replaced mine with an LED, and it is brighter on the ground.

Those are the electrical connections to anything mounted in the door (auto lock, etc). Keep them clean and make sure they move in and out. On my coach only two are actually used and connected to anything on the other side.
