Driver's seat interference w/slideout trim

Has anyone solved the issue of the driver's seat rubbing against the slideout trim while driving? I'm six feet tall and could sure use that lost six inches, to slide the seat back, for more comfort on long drives. This is on a 2016 Bay Star 3124 Thx

I struggled with that in my Bay Star, and the upholstery on the seat back showed it. My Ventana is a bit better (seat isn’t getting beat up), but not much. I test drove a New Aire and it was the same, maybe even a bit worse than the Ventana.

Most folks wouldn’t notice or care. Builders maximize slide size and seem to design cab specs for the average driver. My 87” sofa could have been 84” with the other 3” traded off to driver’s leg room, but that’s not how they build them. I’m 6’5” and could really use a little more leg room. I do enjoy the long couch though.

I’ve always found some space for my feet up under the dash in my various coaches, but that’s only good when on cruise control on freeways with little chance of immediate braking.

I don't know how the Bay Star is designed, but on my Dutch Star, I was able to cut a curve out of the trim, where the seat moves back, giving me 6" more seat movement. I refinished the wood with some stain and it looks factory.

In the second photo, you can see what the cut out looks like when the slide is out.

There’s nothing I can do on mine because of the accent lighting.
