DS 3736 Pantry Added

Saw a recent post asking about adding a Pantry, completed a pantry addition about a month ago. Our 2015 DS had an 8.25” board filling slot next to fridge. I was able to slide the fridge to right about 1/4” for more clearance and used the board as pantry front. This shorter DS is storage challenged so this should be a great improvement. The pantry slide-out hardware is rated at 275lbs. I also added a slide/lock just below the handle after photo.

Nice job!

Even in a 40' we're always looking to maximize even the smallest spaces.

That looks great. Did you put tracks on the bottom or sides?

More Pantry Install info

The full-extension pantry hardware mounts to floor/ceiling. Drawer boxes come as a kit and easily assemble. Drawer Boxes are held in place by a 1/2” plywood rectangle I fabricated. A quality stud-finder located the steel ceiling joist. One challenge was getting the units height just right to fit into the hardware mounted on floor/ceiling. First step was pulling fridge out and seeing what I had to work with. I really couldn’t have pulled this off if rig was stored off-site (must have walked between shop & coach 50 times). Sorry these pics came out sideways…

Well Done!

If anyone is considering a mod to their coach that requires carpentry but not a DIYer I would highly recommend Wood Design in Nappanee. They are very familiar with Newmar Coaches. They recently built me liquor and wine storage drawers for either side of our fireplace. Coach is in Florida so we did everything by phone and email. I did the install myself. Very professional group and it came out perfect.
