DS has CRUNCH sound on driver's front??

I have a 2001 gas Dutch Star on a W-22 Workhorse chassis.
81.1 Vortex & 37 feet...
My last trip from Texas to South Carolina had a Crunch sound on Driver's front side...
Happens when I went over a low dip in road...
Very loud.
Will be pulling the wheel (when it cools down) to check linkage & Bilsten shock.
I did grease it before the long trip...
Didn't notice anything loose or odd...
Thanks for your help in advance...

PS... Has the leaf springs, king pins & crossover axle...
Bob

This problem would usually show up under the passenger side.
Your in the right spot for problem on your side their should be a plastic shim for a space between the spring and bolt or shaft for spring to be mounted to chassis frame, you may see it on the passenger side since no noise.
In this link you will see a link to Workhorse information, not sure he covered this noise problem of many he has fixed. the new shim you should be able to get from Altra Parts.or Brazels. On mine I forced a plastic flat rib in space between the mounting bolt and looped spring.

Workhorse search === Here is what your looking for.

Many Thanks,
When the weather cools down I'll pull the wheel & replace the shims...

Be aware that your Workhorse chassis ( 22.5 " wheels I'm assuming ) requires 450 ftlbs of torque on the lug nuts and they're metric sized ; 33 MM if memory serves .
B-in-L had an 05 Tiffin on W-22. and I did his front brakes.

Has the 19.5 tires, just put some new Hankooks on the back...
Found Workhorse W-22 part... W0000451
About $5 bucks each so will need 4 to do both springs...
Thanks,
Bob
