DSDP Ceiling Vents Question

I've noticed that when using the ac in our recently acquired 2004 DSDP that the air seems to come out of every other ceiling vent. Are the no flow vents for return air? Can't remember the difference, but some of the vents have small foam filters in them, some don't. Where can one purchase these if they need replacement?

The next thing on my list is to figure out all the different filters needed, their p/n's, and a good source to buy from; ie Filter Barn, etc.

The vents with the filters in them is the return air ducts. On my rig there are two rows of vents which are offset from the other the row on the passenger side is the return air. I also will be watching for where to by the replacement A/C filters.

This link will show how your AC vents run in ceiling.
This link will show how to clean your AC and the vent filters in ceiling.
You twist and pull down the plastic vent to remove from outlet in ceiling.
You can get replacement filters with low dense filter material from Newmar or HD or hardware and cut your own.
I have same filters on my 10 year coach only clean and wash every spring they do stand up well.

I would be willing to bet that Newmar's parts dept would have them, but a source, other than OEM, if available, would be nice. They can only be washed so many times I'm sure.

Thanks for the link Roger, another one for my files.

I got mine from Newmar. I bought both the louvered vents and the charcoal filters from Newmar. I kept breaking the return air vents when I pulled them out to clean the filters. They weren't much money- It's been awhile since I ordered any. I bought enough to last me a "lifetime" so as to ensure myself of not breaking anymore of them-

I had the page "earmarked" but the link doesn't work anymore.

Walmart has sheets of foam that can be cut and it works very well. I clean them in the kitchen sink in hot dishwashing soap and then pat dry with a towel.

I found this link for the louvered vents. It suggests that filters will fit them.
A call to them to find out if they have the filters too might help.

Please let us know what you find out.

Max, they show these filters in one of their links so they have them.

I found the replacement vents to replace all 12 of the vents in our DSDP. Looked on the bottom of one of the vents there was a website DWIncorp.com. Ordered them at $3.50 each. Check it out for those who are in need. Located in where else? Elkhart, IN. I purchased the foam in sheets from Home Depot and cut them myself.

Newmar has the filters in their parts store for about $0.70 each. Don't know how much they charge when ordered. There are two different sizes so make sure you get the correct one if you order.
