DSDP Windshield Replacement

Had to bite the bullet and get a new WS after a rock ding that was right under my wiper blade ran on me. I tried to find it when it hit and couldn't see it. I had a great experience with the independent glass company that did the repair. The actual glass has a better tint and fit than the original. If you have to do it make sure your insurance company includes the cost of new wiper arms as the existing ones will probably not seat and may spin. State Farm paid no problem. Newmar must get a lot of orders on these as one side is still on back order.

I’m holding off until the next visit to Newmar in June or the windshield gets worst, I made a patch of superglue and tape, the crack it’s just above the wiper so it doesn’t obstruct my view, thanks for the info I would not have thought of that.

One of my wiper arms failed about 6 months after getting the windshield replaced. I ordered the replacements from Diesel Equipment Company. It is best to call them directly rather than ordering online. They were very helpful. I also ordered the upgraded wipers. The new ones don't skip over the left side of the windshield.

Had the original windshield crack (stone) on a short trip to Tampa in January 2020. Never had an issue in the 20k miles before that. Replaced when we got home later that month. Left for our 6 month trip 4 months later and caught another stone in Arkansas on the edge of the windshield. Left a crack about 3" long that grew to about 10 inches by the time we got back home, 8000 miles later. Having it replaced again next week. I hope this one lasts for a while.

That's what's nice about Fla. among other things, no deductable. Got it replaced last week, no issues. Now I have to reset the Magneshade magnets again...

My insurance coordinated the replacement with a local company, Auto Glass Warehouse.
