Reason for waiting till hearing the purge valve is to get tanks full. As you continue the check you are checking the check valves between the tanks and making sure you will maintain pressure in the primary tank(rear brakes)

Great information on IRV2 as always. My question is: Is there a similar water purge procedure from the air tanks on the Freightliner chassis and if so where is the site for the manual purge?
