Dumping air with Equalizer Systems Auto Level jacks

Well all I can say is WOW! We are on a short 2 1/2 week trip in five different camgrounds and pre-dumping air bags worked like a dream -- no leveling boards. I used the same at RV park and site I camped at before near family. Last summer I needed leveling boards, not this time.

I don't understand why Newmar or Equalizer does not publish this in the owners' manuals. The whole process seems like extra effort and seems to me may cause the system to wear prematurely. A dump valve would make so much more sense. It almost seems like this process is a "backdoor" access point or "by pass" when there is a malfunction in the normal function mode. i.e., think of a slideout malfunction that requires a bypass procedure to retract.

I know right! When that was posted awhile back I couldn't believe it either. I remember when I took delivery of my coach and pulled into the first CG. It was our winter CG in SW Florida and there were several Newmar coaches camped nearby. My coach was new and sat higher than the others. Over the next couple days I had two different Newmar owners look at my controls to see how I could dump air. No one knew how because there was not a switch.

We will be camped all winter within a few miles of North Trail again starting December 1st. If I think of it I'm going to stop in and chat with their delivery team folks and go over dumping the air on the Ventana models. Either they don't know about it or certainly are not putting it out there.

I'm sorry I missed the post you are talking about. Could you elaborate? You peaked my interest but I have no idea what you are talking about.

Thanks,
Dan

Okay, I cave. I don't know how I started a new topic on air bag dumping. Yesterday, I thought I was continuing existing topic on dumping. I did used my cell phone to respond to the thread which I rarely do. I must have done something wrong.

How long do you wait or how do you know they are fully dumped?

You can hear the air bleeding off; at least I could in my Ventana LE. When you stop hearing it, wait 30 seconds to be sure and you should be good.

Since I'm hearing challenged even with hearing aids, my wife listens for the air to stop then we level. I like the 30 second idea and think we will adopt it.

What i do is plug the electric cord in.

leave the key turned, turn on the lever hit auto and the air dump begins, i can touch any button will stop the system ... so its aitomatic, want to just dump air when the jack moves you can stop it and hit all retract.

I always dump the bags to get the lowest starting point for the levelers. Mine has HWH jacks, but I dump the air after the slides are deployed. While the coach is settling I get the water and sewer set up. By the time I'm done with that, the air is dumped and I hit the level button. Can't wait for the Active Air install in June so I can just use the air level.

We level first ... then the slides go out.

Just following the manual and instructions that came with the coach.

If you have an HWH hydraulic full wall slide, they recommend deploying the slide while at ride height. I do all 3 while at ride height (after checking the reveal spacing) and they work flawlessly every time. so far.....
