I've read for years about the problems involving Diamond Shield and the difficulties removing it. I bought a 2019 Newmar a couple of months ago and of course it has the Dura Shield on the front. I guess they all come from the factory like that. I know Diamond Shield and Dura Shield are not the same product.
I already have a couple of places on the front where the Dura Shield is stained (probably tree sap or bird droppings) and can't be cleaned. The paint, similarly stained right beside the Dura Shield, cleaned up just fine.
I guess I'm concerned that the problem with the Dura Shield will just get worse over time and require removal eventually. If I need to remove sooner of later, would now be the best time as it's basically new at this point? I assume the longer it stays on the harder it will be to remove.
As far a paint dings, I've not had that problem on the previous 8 motorhomes I've owned or on any of the dozens of cars I've purchased over the years. I think Dura Shield might just be a solution looking for a problem.
When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.
