Dutch Star Consignments

Has anybody dealt with the Consignment Sales at North Trail? We are ready to retire from RV travel and sell our Dutchstar.

Thanks for any help.

No experience with them but the sales guys make more money selling their inventory.
I do have experience with Cindy at Motorhome finders. She sold my Fleetwood in 1 week.

Bad experience 10 yrs ago.. consigned our Ultimate Freedom 40 DP

Coach was left open, people in and out of it without supervision, Coach was left filthy, a couple of cabinet doors broken.. terrible experience... NEVER AGAIN!!

Here's an excellent one for quality RVs - Motorhomes of Texas. Make it your last trip!

Personally, based on my experience I would steer clear of Northtrail.

I found Doyle at Palm RV to be very honest with consignment sales. Also, you could contact Central Florida RV Center who have a good reputation or possibly Independence RV near Orlando who is a stellar Newmar dealership.

Dutch Star Consignments

I know you are in Florida, but I would also suggest Motor Homes of Texas in Nacogdouches.

https://www.motorhomesoftexas.com/

They do a good job, take care of your coach and charge a reasonable fee.

One friend sold their American Eagle there and another sold an Entegra Anthem.

We also winter in SW Florida. There are a lot of DPs bought and sold during the winter months in that area. Of course that is a very busy sales time for North Trail.

Last February/March there were several in our park that were selling RVs themselves. One couple we knew had a 2015 DS. They sold theirs themselves. I would at least talk to North Trail.

Dutch Star Consignments

Keep in mind , at any dealer, if you consign, you can name your bottom price but the dealer needs to make a profit. This profit added on may make the sale price too high. Check around for the current value of comparable models and expect to take less than that so the dealer can make a buck ( or more).

We consigned our Dutch Star at PPL in Houston. We named our price and we asked higher than PPL suggested thinking that the buyer always wants to bid lower. Our buyer accepted our price, no haggling. He flew in from Florida to buy it. It sold within a month.
