Dutch Star delivered:

After years in the planning, researching, factory tours and shows, yesterday we finally took
delivery of our ordered Dutch Star
4018 from NIRVC In Lewisville, TX.
Never owning an RV before, we were both excited and apprehensive about taking ownership and the huge learning curve ahead of us. Our pickup time was 1:00 and for the next 4 hours we were schooled by the most patient young man by the name of Tanner!
Our experience with NIRVC has been outstanding! All employees
are willing to help and care about
making sure you receive the correct information.
This morning as soon as our front
shade went up, Tanner was back to answer any questions we had
from the first night staying in the coach.
Our salesman Keith checked in several times through out the day and took us out for hands on time behind the wheel.
Still going through all the shared
PDI inspection sheets many of you
have posted, but so far so good!
A small nick and a panel that needs a little more velcro to stay on is all we have discovered.
NIRVC has encouraged us to stay at their camp ground to we get our
questions answered and repair any issues that may turn up.
Many thanks to all that shared their wisdom with us!
A special thanks to redbaron73 who shared his colors with us months ago! We really liked the
colors from his pictures, we loved
them when picked the coach up !

I keep you posted on how it continues to go.

Congrats! We had Tanner teach us the ropes as well! Glad you finally got to take possession after such a long wait. We can relate.

We have lived in ours now for 1 month and love it. We recently got caught in a blizzard in South Dakota and had to live with all the slides in for 3 days. It was surprisingly livable! It has now warmed up to 31 degrees and we'll go out for some groceries. Note to self. Stay stocked up when you can!

Very nice rig, enjoy owning it. Take your time learning all the things inside. If you have never driven a large rig before, please get trained by professionals. Most truck driving schools have an RV segement, and what you will learn may save your life and also mine if we meet unexpedly. Regardless, knowing how to drive big rig is invaluable to your continued well being.
One tip, teach better half how to back you up, just don't depend on the cameras, give her a handheld radio, have her stand on the drivers side so you can see her in the mirror, and work out signals and verbal directions, turn drivers side left, or whatever. Trust me, this will save lots of heartachs, and make pulling in at night painless. The radios can be gotten anywhere. Check youtube videos of what other folks are doing. And one other tip, if possible when backing up, try to be aligned streight so large turns are not necessary, that is the way truck drivers are taught, get lined up streight to the lane you are backing into. Join Good Sam, apply for the Flying J/Pilot charge card, and use a paper map to get places and you wont findyourself in the backwoods of texas on a cattle road, in the middle of the night trying to find a place to turn around because the GPS said to go that way. Trust me on this, been there and done that.
Happy trails to you.
