Dutch Star furnace heat exchanger

Is there a heat exchanger located at front of coach? Only have heat in rear bathroom, bedroom and kitchen area when using Oasis for heat.

Dutch Star furnace heat exchanger

Yes there is one at the bottom of your dash under the console drawers. To enable that one there is a rocker switch on the dash. I believe mine is labeled “front fan” and has Hi/Lo/Off.

There should also be some louvered openings on the kitchen cabinets where heat will flow from.

Make sure “zone 1” is set to “furn” on the dometic thermostat because zone1 is the front and zone 3 is the rear (zone 2 isn’t used when running Oasis).

Check your “zone board” down in the basement near the Oasis burner for any red lights which indicate a failed pump or other component.

Dutch Star Don has a great write-up in the sticky threads at the top of the forum about Newmar Info about the whole operation of the Oasis for hot water and heat.

A good place to start reading:

The switch on your dash says HYDRN HTR FAN. I use it all the time when using the Oasis. It keeps the front of the coach toasty warm.

This thread came at just the right time for me. I'm actually using the HEAT for the first time in my coach. Temps here are currently at 42 and the wind has gusts at 40+. I have the Micro-Air thermostat and wanted to try it out, and it works great. What I forgot about was the dash switch for the heat up front, so thank you for that. Living in Florida does have it's perks when it comes to the weather.

Thanks for replies, found switch labeled OFF LOW HIGH, and that did the trick. My Dutch Star is a 2019, I wish my switch would have indicated HYDRONIC like the reply from the 2018 or maybe I missed that on orientation a couple of years ago. Anyway thanks for the help and the link to Oasis system.
