Dutch Star new wet bay.

Here at Nappanee for work and saw a new 2020 Dutch Star and noticed that the wet bay black and grey drain system has been redesigned. Didn't have a chance to really study it or try it out. Anyone know more info?

Here is a picture of the new wetbay. They added 2" of height, which allowed the heater to be moved up further, making room for the sanicon 700

I think all the talk several years ago on the left over water in the flex line was....make the wet bay 2 inch bigger and install the high line pump system....

Guess what....

Newmar finally got it right! The Turbo 700 is the right solution rather than mounting the Model 400 (or was it 500) upside down. The Turbo 700 is what they installed in our 2018 Mountain Aire and it has worked very well.

All you folks on the forum who pushed Newmar to fix this issue, please take a bow! Nicely done. Sometimes it takes more persistence that we'd like, but it can have an effect. Well done, folks!

I wonder if we all got together and ordered 10,000 motor homes all the same , if the price would come down accordingly .

Should start a new thread. How old is your Newmar with a white plastic outdoor shower? Mines 2008.

I know I've read a ton of posts about the Sanicon pump upside down. I don't recall any solution to the problem? Was there a good re-work of the 2019 DS wet bay and the upside down Sanicon pump? I would like to fix mine before it gets too old. It is under warranty, is this something I should push with Newmar?

There have been several solutions people have done on here. It seems that direct connecting the SaniCon to the discharge valve with a bayonet fitting solves many of the issues. I believe Newmar is now using the model that direct connects.

How the hose exits the wet bay is another issue. Many want to situate the system so they can use the 5" drain hole or they're drilling and installing another 5" drain hole.

Personally, I believe that it should be reworked so the hose exits the bay as designed, via the notch in the door frame. The notch on yours is currently wide enough for the old style 1" hose and your water hose. Fortunately, the cut out is much wider, it's just closed down with all the rubber seal material they used. I ripped out that material, put some rubber on the cut out edges for protection and I have my hose exit the via the designed notch.

With direct connection, the discharge hose faces forward, which means you have to use about two feet of the hose to circle behind the pump and out the notch. I eliminated this by using a rubber fitting, attached to pvc, making the pvc reach over to the cut out, then attached the hose.

Each person will think their idea works best, which is human nature. For me, I've always hated dealing with that center drain ring and fishing the hose through it. I have a bad back and the less I have to bend and mess with something, the better. The above worked best for me.
