I am about to place an order with National Indoor RV Center in Texas for a new 2016 (2017?) Dutch Star 4018. I plan to take delivery at the factory when it's complete, but will ultimately plan to have NIRV Texas store and maintain it when we are not using it.

I would love to hear from anyone who is willing to share their experiences with Dutch Stars, particularly the 4018, and/or with the ordering process, and/or with NIRV as a dealer.

I have selected the Dutch Star 4018 for its combination of quality, performance and technology.

Seems if you were to wait a bit, the front axle problems might be resolved sometime soon.........here in the 2nd quarter of 2016...........

Don't have any real concerns, as much as I am looking for tips from people like you who can suggest things I ought to be considering as I order a new Dutch Star 4018.

Did you order your coach new, and if so, is there anything you wished you had or hadn't done?

I am working with National Indoor RV Center in Lewisville, TX and leaning towards a factory delivery. Price and options being negotiated as I write.

Take a look at Mike Griffin's blog at Life in the Slow Lane: Ordering
Mike is a regular poster here on IRV2 and did a good job outlining a an order with "Specials" for a 2016 Dutch Star. In the end, he and his wife found a spectacular 2015.

I have some regrets.....wish I would have spent more time on the PDI.
Wish I had actually went through a 4018......nearest one was 700 miles away.
Listened to some wonderful folks on this forum......called and talked to three of them on the phone. Ordered our coach in Sept...picked up in April.
We are so happy with our rig, but there is a learning curve.
I will help anyway I can.
So will everyone on this forum.

We ordered a 2015 dutchstar 3736 in summer of 2014. Fabulous experience. Newmar let us make changes to furniture and interior colors and fabrics from any of their coaches. I will say, our dealer Tom Lindstrom RV in moorpark, CA could not have been more helpful. Do yourself a big favor and give him a call. Tell him k and P say hi.
