Dutchstar vs Mountain Aire

Me again, Newmar experts.

The MA 4141 of interest to us is off the list since the prior owner was a smoker. So, we located this Dutchstar 43' really close to us and we plan to investigate it.

2006 Newmar Dutch Star 4306, Class A - Diesel RV For Sale in Fredericksburg, Virginia | The Motorhome Brokers 80329 | RVT.com - 47647

I realize the DS is a step down from the MA but it appears to have the same cabinets and overall features as the MA. Am I correct that both are on the MM GT chassis?

More importantly, DW likes this floorplan and the furnishings better than what we saw in the MA.

What other material differences are there between the DS and MA of those years?

Nothing wrong with a DSDP its the mainstay of Newmar lineup.
Brochure and Owners Guide coming up.
I think the chassis is with a tag axle need to check brochure.
Yes it is MM with IFS. Its a clever floorplan arrangement no wonder wife likes it.

I have the 4306...love it as does my wife. Floor plan is ideal and window next to the table is great. Use of storage bays on curbside without the front slide equals no head bumping. Any questions PM me...I've had the coach 7 1/2 years since new.

I looked at this exact coach. The owner (very nice guy) is selling it thru a local dealership. When I went to view it I was told new batteries. However the batteries were dead. When they finally decided to swap new batteries in the old ones were obviously no place close to new. There were various other major issues that steered me away from this particular unit including tires all needed replaced. I made an offer to the owner directly to reflect the need for batteries, the need for tires, and other issues I won't get into here. My offer was not accepted. I purchased another unit a week later that had new tires, better exterior/interior condition, etc. However, the coach did drive nice. Make sure you take a very good look at this one. It can be a great coach for the right buyer but needs lots of TLC. The owner is very upfront about any questions you have...watch what the dealership tells you.

The differences between '06 DSDP and MADP aren't much, if DSDP optioned similarly to standards and options of MADP. There is a reason why the '07 MADP was radically changed(Spartan K2, ISM 450), it was too similar to DSDP in '06.

Important options on DSDP to make it similar to MADP would be Hydrohot, one-piece fiberglass roof, automatic lock arms, solid hardwood cabinets. MADP will have Villa furniture vs. Flexsteel for DSDP, but most differences are ginger bread. Chassis, drive train the same, if both Spartan/ISL 400. I believe Freightliner was available for DSDP, not sure. I think MADP was Spartan only by '06.
