Emergency - Need part numbers for Windshield

All,

We need the numbers on the windshields, both sides, for a 1995 Newmar Dutch Star.

We find ourselves in a crisis situation. We have had to have both sides of our windshield replaced. The right side doesn't fit!!!! It hangs out from the side rail, about 2 inches, and is not in the gasket provided. The installer has put it in with some type of goo that they use for automobile windshields that needs time to "cure". He has also stated to us that we have to be careful while driving it, even off of his own lot, where it currently still is. It may crack again. He says it may hold until we get home, over 1,000 miles away.

This is an insurance claim and we are with Good Sam insurance. This happened Aug. 21st and the window just arrived from Duncan Systems, recommended by our insurance, Nationwide, to our installer on Thursday, Sept. 3 and was "installed" on Friday, Sept. 4. Supposed to be a 3 hour job and it took from 9-4:30 and it couldn't be installed properly. It seemed to be too large for the opening.

We're not driving it off the lot. Our insurance is on holiday and no one will get back to us until Tuesday, Sept. 8.

So, you can see our crisis. We are thinking Duncan sent the wrong windshield and our installer says "No, the numbers matched." But they have thrown the old windshield away.

Does anyone out there have a 95 Newmar Dutch Star and can they check the windshield numbers for us? They are printed on the windshield themselves.

HELP Please!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!

Wow, sorry for your troubles, I cant believe an installer installed a windshield that was 2 inches to big and put some goo on it, and said be careful driving it.

I did try to search for the part number, which you probably already did, and could not find one, you might have to wait and call Newmar when they open.

I agree with you with not moving the coach.

Here is a place that looks like they do a pretty good number of RV glass replacements, although they are probably not open on Sunday but they might have an emergency number

Thank you so much for your quick reply. Unfortunately, we are in Iowa right now and Phoenix is a long way off. I have brought up the web page you submitted and bookmarked it for future reference. I have a feeling we are going to need it.

Midway RV, in Grand Rapids, Michigan (a great Newmar dealership) replaced one of ours 3 weeks ago. They knew the winshield number once we told them our coach info. We were able to stay there overnight (2 nights with free 50 amps) while the sealant cured for the minimum 24hrs. Great experience, so sorry your experience is different. :(616) 534-9641 is there phone number and they may be able to at least help with the #. Our numbers were 1927 LH (drivers) and 1926 RH (passenger) which were also on the windshield. We took pictures before replacement of thee numbers as well. Best of luck.

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. We are still in a learning curve about what we need to do. We are hoping that our insurance will cover it if we drive it off the lot and it cracks.

I would call Newmar first thing in the morning to get the correct numbers for your windshields.
