Emissions Testing

It looks like I will have to have my coach tested for emissions, this Spring, before I relicense it. I thought maybe they didn't test large motorhomes, the Washington State site says if you diesel vehicle is over 6,000 lbs they require testing. I live in Gig Harbor, but will have to probably go into Tacoma/Fife for this testing, unless someone in the area has a better idea. If I take it to Fife, is that State emissions site big enough to get a coach into and out of? I'd appreciate any advice you have, if you have done this in this area.

I would call the DMV first if I were you. A 2002 has little or no emissions on it right? DPF's started in 2009? or maybe 2010? DEF didn't start until 2011. So other than a cat and muffler what are they going to look at? I would explain the year and chassis info to them and ask if it is really required and what they will measure. How would they know if you didn't do it? In Cali they do random emissions testing right on the road so you pretty much better make sure your vehicle complies. Do they do that in Washington?

I agree that you should call. I believe that the EPA requirements of 2004 were the first that a diesel. Oils be tested for.

My 2005 requires emission testing. And YES, Department of Licensing knows if you have had it tested or not because you have to provide your test results to them before they will issue your tabs.

I'm assuming your coach is licensed in one of the counties in Washington that requires testing. If you're from the Tacoma area, where did you go for this?
