Empty Fresh Water Tank
So this is my first post on the Forum, which I have been following for awhile and love the info gotten from the members. Thank you all.
My issue is that when I try to empty my fresh water tank it works just fine but stops at about 13% full. So how do I get it done to 0%, or do I even want to.
Sanitation is the issue. Thanks for your help!

Are you sure there is still water in it? It might be a sensor issue.

I believe very few fresh tanks empty completely. I know mine does not.

Black & Grey seem to work just fine, but don't know how to check if tank not empty.

So does yours hang at about 13% full. Or should I just not get so paranoid about this.
Going out in the wild for awhile this summer, like months in Canada & Alaska, so will need tank Water a lot. Just trying to be sure don't get cought out in Yukon with some sick problem!

Unless you fill your tank from someone's backyard well, metropolitan water is heavily chlorinated and is safe in the tank for a long period of time.
On our current and last two DP's, 18 years of RVing in just those three RV's we never drained or flushed our tank. We take the coach out on average of once a month, and we top the tank off each time.
The only place we won't use the water is the campgrounds around Lake Havasu, Az. It's the worst tasting water.

Definitely sanitize your water system before you leave!

Our 2017 Essex used to hang at about 7%, never went any lower. Assume you are draining using the drain valve in the wet bay, that might leave a little residual water in the system, but it never bothered me.
It sounds like your concern is whether this is impacting your useable water capacity. Perhaps you could run an experiment. Fill the tank full, to overflowing, then carefully drain it into a container, measuring the amount you get out ... if it's close to the spec quantity for your coach then you're good to go, despite having a 13% remaining indication.

To get my tank to empty more completely, I park the rig on a slant or blocks on one side to put the drain on the low side, helps a bunch. My particular unit has the drain on the front left side of the tank, so I know how to block it to get the best effect.
My particular tank has a severely sunken top, I only get about 85 to 90 gallons of capacity now and need to re-calibrate the gauge, just haven't done it yet.
Happy and safe travels to all.

Our tank water runs through the filter. Charcoal filters will remove up to 95% of chlorine from water so just how much do you think the water in the tank is chlorinated? I remove my filter and put chlorine in the empty holder when flushing (cleaning) my tank. I haven't been sick but I also use a Berkey® for all our drinking water. My concern is arsenic, and other chemicals in the water that are deemed within "acceptable" levels buy the EPA.
