Engine battery issues?

Hi all: I went for a trip camping this past weekend and on Sunday the engine battery was @ 10.25 volts (This is a NEW battery in May 2017). Yes, I was plugged in at both home and the campground and never realized there was a problem till Sunday when I wanted to retract my level jacks, I got the low voltage!!! I may have had the radio on all weekend without knowing it (that was stupid but it happens). I plan to have the battery checked at a local Interstate battery shop. I have kept the fluid level up, Currently the RV says the battery is @ 12.6 Volts and that number matches the house battery #. I thought being plugged in would keep ALL the batteries charged, or am I wrong??? Thoughts please!!!! I got a jump so home safe ....

Hi Daryl molly,
You are correct. When connected to shore power all the batteries should be charged. The component that manages this is the BIM. It may be located in the bay that contains the shore power cord. Consider having it checked.

I am seeing no problems with the charging of the battery; would corrosion have caused the problem?? I (had) a quick disconnect on the positive battery post, after taking it off I saw corrosion on both connector holes (not crazy build up but enough that made me glad to have removed it) I am seeing a good charge on both batteries (this is what the inside pannel is telling me) both showing 13.7 Volts??? How would I check the area you suggested??

Check the voltage at the batteries with a multimeter. If that checks out the same as the panel display, have the batteries checked in case you have a bad cell.

GaryKD: your welcome, wanted to let everyone know an end! I was surprised to have bought a NEW battery and have a bad cell, but it happens!!!! first time for me! Now to have a plan B if this happens again!!! any thoughts? I had a 300W booster but I have never used it before and it is over 10 years old, time to think of another option!
