Engine shut down

I have a problem that is intermittent in my 05 Newmar MA, the check engine light will come on and the engine will shut down but reignite immediately, the code light and buzzer will not go off until I shut it down. when I restart the code will come on for a few seconds and then go off and all is well until next incident.

P.S this code does not show on any scan after the incident. i.e. I have taken it to a cummins dealer but there are no codes evident.

I should add my engine is a cummins 400 ISL

Thoughts anyone

It is clearly a cheap shoot and my experience is probably not your issue but just in case.
We had a similar year Newmarket, had a fuel injector problem in the first year that was repaired under warranty - all was good.
2-3 years later, we were experiencing similar to what you describe. Intermittentent, every 6 months, then 4 months, then 2 months or so then it got worse to a point it did not correct itself. This took another 3-4 years.
After a month of Cummins troubleshooting, I am sure not full time, they found a 12 inch wrench left under the rocker cover that was shorting out the fuel injector rail. It finally wore through the insulation.

Is there a message on the little dash screen?

On my 08 MADP, I was getting a fault that the scanner was not picking up. Fortunately, the diagnostic menu on the dash was able to read it. Have you tried looking in the diag menu while the buzzer was sounding? If the buzzer is going off, the computer knows there is a fault.

To date I have not had a scanner on hand when this code is triggered, however I have now purchased a scanner that'll be at hand when this occurs again. thanks to all who responded to my post, it is appreciated and very helpful.

Id plug your code reader into the under dash port and leave it on while running so you are real-time monitoring to capture any codes initiated at the time. What scanner did you buy?

On your dash, don't you have the little screen (maybe 1" H x 2.5" L) with a right arrow and down arrow button? By pushing the buttons, you can display things like Odometer, Trip 1, Trip 2, Oil Temp, Trans Temp, etc?

If you do, you can read the codes with that. Scroll to the diag menu. Reading codes is one of the options. A shutdown should produce a stored code.
