Engine surge on take off

i have gotten my Mountain Aire home. The sea foam seemed to help a little. I still have a surge when I take off from a light. From about 20mph to 30mph or so. I will look at plugs and wires tomorrow other areas to look at. Got a big race trip coming up and am a little worried now. I fiqure plugs wires and fuel filter to start with.

I have a VTDP so this might be incorrect. I have a surge at take-off at about 10mph. I figured out that this is when the turbo kicks in.

Are you still in first gear when this happens? If so it may be the turbo kicking in. Just my best guess.

If your Mountain Aire is on a Workhorse chassis with the 8.1 Chevrolet engine, they are notorious for burning plug wires due to bad airflow across the exhaust manifolds. The repair is to buy a GOOD quality set of high heat plug wires.

If it checks out electrically, check the fuel filter and fuel pump.
