Entry Door lock stopped working 22 Dutch
We have a 22 DutchStar
The Entry lock or Unlock Function stopped working with the Keypad or Keyfob.
The Luggage doors work from the Keypad or the Keyfob
I took apart the Door lock assemble and applied 12v power source to the plunger in the lock assembly and it works.... both lock and unlock.
I recycled the chassis battery but did not change anything.
I know there is a Trimark control unit somewhere in the coach..... anyone know where ?
I am thinking the control module is bad for the door, or a break in the wire from the controller to the plunger on the door.
Any Ideas ?

Suggest making sure the door contacts are clean and not broken. Make them shiny again if they are corroded. I also put an electrical contact grease (NOT Dieelectric which is an insulator!)

On my Dutchstar, the trimark unit is under / next to the steering column. I had similar problems... but mine was a bit stranger. When I'd step on the outside step, the bays would lock or unlock and also sometimes the door. Then the fob would work sometimes an other times not. I sort of gave up on figuring that out for now. I just unhooked the connector from the trimark unit and now use my keys to do the locking/unlocking.

I'm having similar issues. I found the trimark controler above the steering column under some heat duct. Used the remote and listen for faint clicking noise for the door lead me to it. Trimark support had me check for 12V on the blue & green wires on the 12 wire plug. I had to push small 20 gage wire into the plug to make contact. I do have 12V output at the controller, so my next step is to check the door lock actuator, been traveling so want to be sure I'm prepared if something goes wrong. My door does not have th3 brass plunger contacts, it has magnetic microswitch's.

Maybe I was just lucky but when this happened to me I thought the electronic switch was "out of sequence"
I closed the door with the lock lever moved in the lock position.
Then with the keypad unlocked it.
It's now working fine.
I did use the electronic contact cleaner and lube as well.

That's typical with Newmarket. Best to call the product tech for advice. Primary didn't give me much insight in taking the lock apart. Do you have any guidance as I don't want to cause other issues while on the road for something that can wait.

You mentioned applying 12v to the actuator. Realize that the controller only supplies voltage to actuator for 0.5 second. In many cases this is not long enough if the lock mechanism is binding which is common with age. I would recommend cleaning old lubricant from lock mechanism and apply fresh lubricant and work the lock mechanism to distribute the lubricant. A lot of times this resolves a sluggish actuator.

You have Two Black Buttons on the Door and Jamb. One is a Dumbie and the other Controls the Step and Door functions.. On the Door Side are two magnets and on the Jamb side is a Dumbie the and the other has 4 wires going to it. Had to replace the 4 wire side and steps would not work all the time.

I found the problem.
The wires that run between the door frame and the door were damage. One wire was 100% cut through and the other was almost cut through. I repaired and added extra black tape around the wires.

I helped two DS owners with this problem at the February rally in Hemet.
Just as Joseph has reported; TRIMARK had me pull back the flextube between the door frame of the coach and the door to check if the wires had been cut and that's exactly what happened. They stated they have advised Newmar many times that they need to de-burr the door frame during assembly.
I used a Dremel to deburr the hole, then reattached the wires using butt connectors and it was fixed.
When I called Newmar, they couldn't help me

Wow, we actually just discovered this issue a couple of days ago and then this post showed up. Fixed it in a few minutes after finding the cut wire. Thanks, folks!
