Entry Step Gear

Just looked under my entry step for the first time. Does the gear and associated pivot points require any lubrication? If yes, what type?

Thanks

The pivot points all need regular lubrication. I use a spray can of white lithium grease. With the little straw you can easily get into all the spots. Mt gear case is sealed and requires no additional lubrication.

I've used Kwik Lube with good results:

Of course! Anything that moves, requires lubrication.

How much, when and what type of lube will vary, so your best course of action is to read the owners manual. It should answer all your questions, the forums give great ideas but trust the manual and from there you can form your own opinion.

Stay cool

Read your owners manual. Mine says to lube 2x per year but not to use grease that will hold dirt and grit. I use spray silicone.

My manual says use a dry lube. As such, I’ve used graphite spray. Works well and doesn’t attract dirt.
