Entry Steps Stopped Working.

I have a 2010 Newmar Ventana with a "classic coach" (LCI) step assembly. The assembly stopped working and I would like to operate the steps manually while I check the motor, wiring connections, etc. Does anyone know how I can disconnect the steps from the motor arm,, or does anyone know of a link that shows how to make the steps "manual" (temporarily) ?

I heard of a guy working on his steps that wouldn't deploy and while he was underneath them working on the wiring they deployed.

I'd suggest turning off all batteries, if you have a battery disconnect switches, and unplugging from shore power.

In QT's # 3 there is a section on step problems and this link has more info on steps.
Below in my signature are many other links for your coach.

Thanks for the input. I already have the power disconnected. I'm looking for a way to physically disconnect the motor arm from the steps. Any idea's would be appreciated.

Hi jth3277,
Are you sure there is power to the motor?

Steps not worKing

There is power to The plug, and the step light is working. I'm trying to disconnect the motor "arm" from the step assembly so that I can move the steps manually. This will give me access to all of the bolts so that I can remove the whole step assembly and get a good look at the whole unit. However, I haven't been able to disconnect the motor "arm" and I'm looking for info on how to do this.
