Entry steps stuck out

Our entry steps stopped working today. Luckily they are in the out position. I have checked all the wiring and fuse. Everything appears to be good. They will not move in either direction and appear to have no electricity to the steps. Just guessing. Where is the door switch located? Any ideas where to look next? Thanks.

On my 2019 Ventana, I believe there are two ball bearing looking things in the frame on the hinge side of the door, which I believe is what let's it know the door is closed.

I just read a discussion on a Tiffin facebook group, and in there, they said that sometimes either the switch goes bad or ground wire comes loose from the switch. If yours has a switch in that location, you might be able to remove and see if you can complete the ground manually.

Those are the contacts for the door lock. The door switch for the steps, at least on mine, is a magnetic reed switch on the lower strike side of the door (as I recall). I had to replace my motor assembly a while back for the reason mentioned above, just quit working. Had power to the unit, just nothing happening.

Good luck and happy travels.

I had our motor that operates the steps replaced a couple of months ago, used the coach one time and the steps are not working again, the motor makes a God awful sound when it tries to retract the steps, headed back to the rv service center Monday, hope they can jump on it, headed to Minnesota on Wed to do some small mouth bass fishing.

There is a fuse in the first compartment on the driver's side. Also the kwikie motor has a power connector which you might want to check.
