Wink Equalizer Leveling System 2019 Bay Star

Just a FYI here in case someone has the same problem. A couple months ago I found that the Equalizer leveling system on our 3124 Bay Star would not work at all. It would make some noise from the pump when you pushed the retract button even though the jacks were already in the retracted position. That was all it would do.

I called Newmar customer service, told them the above information and they got someone from Equalizer on the phone. Equalizer person had me try a few things that had no result and he told me that the reversing contactor switch had gone bad. It is the small black box attached to the pump with a large radiator hose clamp. It has three different colored wires connected to the front and the larger wires on the top. I ordered the new switch from Newmar and swapped it out a few days ago. Everything seems to work as it should now.

The invoice shows it as a "reversing contactor" #F/117800.

I did a post on this a couple of years back. Usually only one side of the solenoid fails and equalizer gave me instructions to reverse the wiring, allowing me to retract the jacks. They won’t lower again until you put the wires back as they were but this allowed me to continue to my next stop where equalizer sent me a new solenoid. My previous post on this provides detail on reversing the wires to get back on the road.
The problem is the location Newmar picked for the solenoid allowing road spray to corrode the contacts. Spraying the contacts annually might prevent the corrosion problem.

I had to replace the reversing contactor on my rig just a couple of months ago. One call to Newmar and the tech had me reverse some wires so I could retract my levelers. I got the part the next day and my problems were solved.
