Equinox as towed vehicle

Any experience with Chev Equinox as tow vehicle? I want a small SUV, inexpensive, that's simple to tow. This shows up on the dinghy guide; Jeep Compass apparently is no longer flat towable. I don't want to go as big or expensive as Jeep Cherokee

Any thoughts / experience / input welcome

We tow a 2015 w/4cyl never had a problem, you have to pull 1 fuse or your battery will drain fast, other than that just start and let run for 5 min or so at start of the day, at fuel stops and end of day . I know it sounds like a hassle but its not bad ,I have a routine that I use to do it

I am on my second Equinox. The first one was a 2010 model with the 4 cylinder engine. My current one is a 2016 model with the 6 cylinder engine. Both of these towed great. From what I have read there may be issues with the "death wobble" if it has the 4 cylinder engine.

I love the ease of setting it up to tow and to get it back for driving.

GM has released a Service Bulletin to address the "death wobble" potential for the 4 cyl, electric steering, Equinox and Terrain.

We tow a 2013 GMC Terrain.

I think you mean "towed" vehicle. A tow vehicle is the one that does the towing. The other is a toad (towed).

We currently tow a 2015 Terrain which is GMC’s version of the Chevy Equinox. Very easy to set up to tow and a nice vehicle to drive as well. Our’s has the 300 hp V-6. It is also All Wheel Drive.
I’m not certain about this but I believe the AWD version is the only model that can be flat towed.
I’m sure someone here on the forum will know for sure if that’s the case.
At any rate, it is a great tow vehicle for us. I would definitely recommend it.

All Terrains AWD or FWD can be towed 4-down.

We picked up a 2013 Equinox LTZ, 6cyl AWD, two years ago from California to pull behind our Itasca.

This past year we traded the Itasca for a 2018 DS 4018. The DS does not even know it is back there.

The Equinox is one of the best vehicles we have owned. Very easy to setup and disconnect. It was already setup to for towing when we got it from a guy who wanted a pickup.

Only thing I would recommend is make sure you run it before you start the day, at the end of the day, and at least once during the day. Reason I say this is they are known to have a problem with the transaxle. The bearings in mine went bad and I needed to replace the transaxle. So now I have the fluid checked and or changed at the beginning and end of travel season.

Otherwise it is a very comfortable and great riding vehicle.

I did some quick research on this about 6 months ago for a friend.
I believe there is a new engine/transmission combination that came out in 2017 that is NOT flat towable. I don't remember the details.
All other engine/transmission options are flat towable.
I hope someone here can offer more detailed info but I did want to warn that not all Terrain/Equinox are towable.

The Terrain/Equinox was towable for years 2010 to 2017, 4, 6 cyl, FWD, AWD, but you are correct and not 2018.

I heard this also and that is why I got the 2016 year model before this happened (if it happened). On my AWD-6 cylinder model all I have to do is pull a fuse, put it in neutral and turn the key on ACC.

Yes, it does not show up on the 2018 towables list. So another one then: who has experience with a Kia Soul as a towed?
