Our EXDP door handle requires way too much pressure lately to open the door. From the inside or outside we need to really pull the handle way open (then with extra pressure right at the end of the latch swing) before the latch releases.
I have done plenty of lubrication of the internal mechanism but still tight. Closing the door is fine and everything seems to line up properly. We are terrified that the thing will fail on the road and we will either be locked in or out of the coach. Has anyone else experienced this? Any door latch failures? Any fixes?

Take a look at the fasterning round bar with the hex like head on the door frame where the door latch grabs. You should be able to move it freely up and down about 1/4" or more. If this is not floating you can take out the mount screws and free it up. If you have a serious failure with this lock you could remove the locking bar and use only the dead bolt until you can get it repaired.

Thanks Peter,
The round latch bar moves freely. What is crazy is how smoothly the door closes but how hard you need to work the door release mechanism. We will be careful with it until I get a solution.
The big problem...what do you do if you are outside the coach and the lower handle does not work? It is a real problem when you only have one door.
