Extended stays

Wife and I are looking to stay in San Diego area in December or February for month. Water would be nice but not necessary, clean park more important. Suggestions/recommendations?

Chula Vista RV Resort is very nice & right on the bay. I doubt they will have any openings but you can give them a call. 1-888-303-7063.

We've stayed there 3 times & it's really a nice location & well ran.

Happy Trails

fyi - Chula Vista supposedly has been trying to shut down for the last 2+ years. However, they remained open and was actually managed by Sun RV Resorts, I think orignally from Florida. Sun RV was building a new resort not far from Chula which is supposed to accomodate larger units, even more so than Chula.

Last I heard when I was out there earlier in the year, Chula was shutting down for good in april or so of 2021 and Sun was opening up at the same time. (you never know, till you call them). Have not followed up since. Both places would be as Capt Bill suggests. You do want to plan as early, some of the weekends may already be full. If so, sometimes, you may need to move once or twice from one site to another, to stay long term. I had to do that on a few occassions.

We stayed at the new SunResorts SanDiego bay resort for the Month of August. It’s very nice, gym, pool and on site restaurant are all good. Sites 205-208 are really good, bbq included. The pull throughs are the most spacious. We were in site 5 which is a back in premium with a plumbed fire pit. It gets a bit crazy on the weekends with kids having fun including a Friday night bike parade. The property is also gated. I suspect you will find availability in the winter. As alway your experience varies depending on neighbors. They could do a better job of enforcing the rules.
