Extended Warranty

Hello Newmar Folks

We are coming up on the end of our 12 month Newmar Warranty and was wondering what companies everyone has used for extended warranties, the ball park costs and the length of contract.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

We have a quote from Wholesale Warranties but thought we would do some shopping.

Thanks in advance.

I used Wholesale Warranties for my first coach and they were a good price. We never needed to use it before we sold the coach 4 1/2 years later, and they helped us get the prorated balance returned to us.

My current extended warranty is the USA Travel Care Plan though American Guardian. We got it through the dealer, La Mesa RV, when we purchased the RV. They have been excellent in processing claims submitted by La Mesa. We have had a few claims that more than paid for the purchase of the extended warranty. However I would have preferred never to need it, but it seems the quality of RV components has been a problem lately.

You will get an entire mix of answers. Those who had luck on collecting a claim will say their company is a good company. Others will complain that they’ve been taken.

Generally, most advice is to pay for repairs yourself.

My extended warranty with National General would have cost me almost $400 a month. I didn’t buy the warranty and now have almost $5000 in savings. Can pay cash for a good size repair if needed.

Good morning! Extended warranty is always a personal decision. As mentioned in the thread already, some see the value in having the sense of security, while others find it easier to avoid the cost and save for a rainy day should one occur. My advice would be to do the research, jot down some questions and determine what is non-negotiable as you explore your options, then reach out to a few and see what feels right for you! Best of luck!
