Exterior door over travel arm
2018 Ventana. I lost a bolt or pin from the arm that stops the exterior door from swinging too far open. Can anyone tell me how this is supposed to be connected and what hardware is used? Better yet would be a picture.
Thanks.

Update: I found a pin and two washers. One is a thin wavy washer and the other is nylon. The pin clearly came from my door but I'm not sure about the washers. If the washers are from my door, where do they go? On top of the arms or between them? Also, the pin doesn't have any way to hold it in place like a cotter key or split ring. Is it just held by gravity?

The Posilock hinge is pressed into place and the end slightly mushroomed to keep it in place. Unless you have access to an industrial press to reinstall and press the pin, you'll need to replace the Posilock assembly, Newmar part #09402.

Thanks for the links to the replacement. I was able to press the pin back into place.with a pair of channel locks. It's working for now but I'm not confident it'll hold since it's already fallen out once so I'll go ahead and order a new one.

If it was mine, I’d take the hinge brackets off and replace the pin with a regular bolt. I’d grind the bolt head down to around 1/8” or less on the top, then put a flat washer on the bottom and tack weld it so it’s no thicker than about 1/8” or less also.
As long as the brackets have no other defect, it would work just fine.
Now if you have to pay someone to do this at today’s labor rates, it may be cheaper to buy new.

exterior door catch
I need to replace mine. This looks like what I recall seeing the last time I climbed the ladder to look at why my door wasn't staying open.
The amazon page says this will not work on a posilock catch and handle.
How do I know if my 2006 has posilock????
If this does work for me, how effective is the feature that keeps the door from slamming shut? Should I just keep using my bungee cord to keep it open?

While you’re up there, check the top of the door for rubbing wear. We had a squeak.going down the road coming from the door area and could not find it.
Turned out it was the arm/pivot point rubbing on the top of the door.
I was able to prime area with 3m tape primer then apply a piece of adhesive backed fabric as they did from the factory.
The shiny spot in the picture was the rubbing location.

I had the rattle and squeak at the door hinge and added some Velcro to the top of the door where the door-stop arm pivot point rides. It can also bang on a rough road. Recently I tried something new. I have a lot of these squeegees you get with vinyl film and putty.
The little squeegees are thinner on one side. I took the smallest one in the picture below and glued it to the top of the door with some contact cement. I positioned it so the thinner side faced toward the inside of the coach. When you close the door, the pivot arm rides up on the plastic piece and holds it still.

Great idea Don!
That arm moves alot.
The 210 freeway in Pasadena will find every rattle/squeak you have.
