I've located a bundle of cables in the center basement area of our "new to us" Essex. I've not cut the zip tie yet, but I am hoping that there is a cable in that mess that I can connect our portable satellite to. Has anyone explored this? It is too bad Newmar doesn't make the external satellite connection standard, instead of an option.

I had Newmar install a coax connection in the front left compartment and run the coax straight into the A/V cabinet. This was during a service visit.

There are threads here that detail this. I think DSD did it. I was under warranty at the time and the DW forbid any disassembly while still under warranty.

An external satellite is a special order option on Newmars.

Are any of them coax cables? If the option wasn't ordered I doubt that you would find extra coax cables up to the AV center. If it has a solar prewire then you will find a 6awg power cable and a rolled up length of Cat5 cable that is part of the prewire.

When I ordered my Ventana LE I had a special order for two cables to connect a satellite tripod too. I had one for the front and one for the bedroom entertainment centers. There was a total of 3 cables there and one was for the cable system. They were all labelled, but they was labelled wrong. Your cables should be labelled.
